ACTION GUIDANCE FOR CONTRIBUTORS
Editor’s roles
Editors at MENASci research and write articles of broad scientific interest. They seek out interesting new stories and invite other scientists to contribute articles, stories, features, ideas, adverts, data and discussions. Writing for MENASci Scientists offering to make a contribution should contact the editors for further details in the first instance. Present your ideas on a subject, limited to a short paragraph, making it clear what type of contribution you have in mind, timetable, level of interest, and send us information on your background, affiliation, telephone, contact address and email. Match the Vision All contributions must align with our mission and vision in the about page. Before sending us any items, please align your suggestions and articles with our vision. Type of contributions Contributions can include: stories, reports, features relating to your own scientific work; a scientific issue of major interest; strategic and applied science, capacity building and business investment/links to innovation. We welcome articles featuring examples of how scientific knowledge is translated to address issues central to sustainable development. Use this platform to increase exposure of current exciting projects and widen your networks. Advertisements featuring scientific and IT products are welcome; contact us for costs. Language: The language has to be sufficiently detailed to interest scientists and clear enough to access the wider reader and stakeholder. The major language will be in English to reach a global audience and links will be made to translated articles in the regional languages. Writing Style: Make the articles/stories interesting, with a punchy title and images to catch attention whilst maintaining the scientific standard of reporting results and facts. Use hyperlinks to add scientific detail and clarity to text and material. Article size: Limits of article and features are up to 600 words and limits for news items, events, meetings, adverts are up to 200 words. ‘Deep read’ articles with more in-depth focus and material can be of a longer format up to 1200 words. Graphics and Audio: We encourage the use of original images, graphics, videos, infographics and other aids to help make the content more accessible and interesting. References: We aim to reference original papers and publications within the articles by hyperlinked text, so please provide full reference information with journal name and DOI. Author affiliation: Author names will be hyperlinked to their affiliation websites. Scientists mentioned in articles, such as project leaders and innovators will also be hyperlinked to their affiliation websites. Article Rights
